i am officially disgusted by ksl channel 5 news at this time. i just finished watching the 10 o'clock news baffled by the idea that someone thought it would be a great to make a lighthearted joke while showing the pope laying in state. while finishing thier incredibly short report on Karol Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II) they proceeded to show him, feet first, laying in state. then the newscaster said "the pope. Big shoes to fill!" and the other anchors proceed to quietly giggle as they would after a puff peice about a cat in a tree.
needless to say i am livid right now. i am not catholic but i have respect for people who stand for what they believe (althought i did not agree with all of it) and actually cause change in the world.
i know this is a little unexpected for me to do, but the news station didn't and thats upsetting.
