PSOI rocked last night. It's a shame I've got a bit of a cold but still managed to enjoy the hell out of the show. They didn't play that long, especially since Broken Social Scene came out and played for like 2 hours. But it was good nonetheless.
Of more importance, I got to introduce myself to Scott Kannberg (bka, Spiral Stairs, formerly of a little band called Pavement). So that just adds to the impressive list of rockers that I've met in my life. And the second member of Pavement mind you.
Which gets me thinking - I enjoy PSOI a lot more than SMalkmus and the Jicks, mainly because they seem to have gone in a different direction than the former's band, insomuch as The Jicks sound a lot like Pavement (not that that is a bad thing at all). In fact, PSOI is probably my favorite band to rise from the ashes of the breakup of a great band.
So, who is your favorite band to rise from the ashes after the breakup of a once mighty institution?

I'll fill you in on what a Hoosier and Billiken is later both are longwinded stories with no real agreed on answer. Who knew some of the books I have would prove useful if I read them.
The Mars Volta/Sparta from At the Drive In
