A Longer Swordnull
two things I grow more certain of with the passing of time. the first: make note of when the warranty expires on an electronic appliance. It's death draws near thereafter. The second: larger and larger hard drives are simply longer swords to fall on. Not yet a month after the warranty expired, and my 100B hard drive decides to crash into a wall. My sunken empire of pirate media now rendered temporarily worthless. And sure enough, over the weekend, I bought a new hard drive and its a longer sword. Computers are dumb - they only know what you tell them. The market is dumb - it only knows what you tell it. Anything lacking self-awareness is unable to control it's environs. That's why Sartre said 'we are condemned to be free'. And something else, but I've forgot.
