Better late then never? Went to the SG show on Friday night. First time going to the Logan Square Auditorium. Seems like an alright place but it sorta sucked for seeing the Burlesque act. Mainly because the stage only sat about 2 feet off the ground if that. So being stuck behind a mob of people all trying to get a good vantage point, I was stuck looking at the back of spectators heads instead of seeing the show. What I did get to see of the show was mostly just the girls heads and the occasional boob.
What I did see of the show was pretty good. Seemed like the skits where thought out and well exectured. I thought the one with REAGAN with the ruler was the best. She seemed to be at home on that stage, probably since this is her second tour.
All in all I enjoyed the show, but would have liked it more if I could have seen more of it. That fact in mind, I think I liked the show at the Double Door last year a little more. Even though being at that show was like being in a oven, I swear I think it was probably 100 degrees in there by the time that show was over. But atleast you could see it.
Lets not forget Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re, those Japanese girls where good. The cuteness factor of them was sickening but you couldn't help but enjoy it. I especially liked 'Tea Time Ska' (track 5 off of Pregnant Fantasy). That song is the best, it's like a cross between JPop, Ska (duh), and Cookie Monster (Death Metal). To hear this 5 foot nothing little Japanese girl singing happy happy and then break into the growling that would put the singer from kittie to shame. It have me laughing my ass off. Great song.
thats it for now, maybe another update another day...
