My most recent excitements:
Got a new phone and phone service. Now that we're on a family plan we'll be saving a substantial amount of money. We didn't get the phones we were really wanting, but these are still really nifty.
I start work sometime next week. Excited and dreading.
My grandmother's x-mas present is wonderful. I've been working on this doily for the past week and it's beautiful. It's a traditional irish pattern and surprisingly I had to learn two new stitches. As soon as I get a cable to download pics from my phone I'll post one of it. I'm incredibly proud. Funny thing, though. I may be ohhing and awing over this, but I'm still nervous about what she's going to think of it. I'm a pretty damn good crocheter, but my great-great-grandmother and great-grandmother were amazing. My grandmother has doilies made by both of them and I'm afraid of what it's going to look like next to those works. I'm also trying to figure how I'm going to present it to her. The piece is about 24" across and has to be starched heavily. Should I frame it? Find a large enough box? Do something fancy with tissue paper? Crap ... I dunno.
