Jesus... SG maintenance is hard when you have more friends/commenters... Bug off, people -- you're making more work for me! I'm kidding of course... Post more. It's better that way.
So.. after just 3 months of life, Lakonic.com gets a face-lift and is officially live. I'm very happy with it -- maybe because I am the writer, designer and coder for the entire site? Maybe... but I think the style fits the identity better. People weren't getting to the content we wanted them to see in the old version. Half of the sections were just a waste; others confused visitors and drove them away...
Now there's a lot less clutter (even if the clutter was witty). We've killed/focused 80% of the content; it's 100% XHTML Strict and accessible, so blind people can "see" it (not that they want to). And though it's not been tested on mobiles, it should be somewhat usable on them too. And we have room to play within the A2A (advertising agency to ad agency) model, giving us a good amount of lead-generating clients while maintaining the flexibility within the The Volume of Silence niche/hip brand, which I move to right now. We still have to decide for or against the diluted concept (part zine part studio) or go full out design studio or zine, pushing the design studio over to the iamblind. identity... Bleah! Too much planning -- why can't things just be?
How about a vote?
We have 3 tradenames to use: Lakonic, The Volume of Silence and iamblind. We have a corporate design studio (Lakonic) and a vision for a magazine (vote 1) and a design studio (vote 2). The magazine and design studio are proposed to be under the name The Volume of Silence, but we run into numerous usability/naming issues with that. Both are geared towards music -- the zine promotes unsigned bands, the studio promotes bands for cheap... I'm considering pulling the zine as it's really just a soft-sell way to create business and credibility for the studio and vice versa. But I'm torn; a zine would be so cool. Care to vote?
Not that you care about ANY of that. But, you know... the job and the girl303 are the only things that are on my mind at the moment...
oops
On that note, I'm done.
