Finally back home for a moment. It's a great feeling to be back in
the vineyards, learning how to prune my vines.
Very relaxing and not nearly as complicated as I'd thought. Eric
mentioned that many California winemakers have no idea how to prune
and some have never set foot in a vineyard. That blows my mind. How
can you expect to make a great wine having never touched a vine? Yikes.
Anyway,
I'm happy to report that the 2005 Merkin Vineyards Chupacabra is sold
out. So at the moment, I have no wine to sell you. But I will soon.
We're expecting our bottles to come in shortly, and plan to bottle
the 2005 Primer Paso (Syrah with a dash of Malvasia and Muscat) and
the 2005 Nagual de la NAGA (Cab Sav & Sangiovese) in March. Most
likely I'll be releasing the 05 Primer Paso in mid April. I'll keep
you all posted.
In the meantime, My winemaker and mentor, Eric Glomski, has launched
his online wine shopping cart. It's located at pagespringscellars-so do yourself a favor and pick up a few
of his wines. Excellent juice. My personal favorites are the La
Familia (a blend of Petite Syrah, Syrah and a dash of Cabernet
Pfeffer and Arizona Viognier), the El Serrano (a blend of Mourvedre,
Syrah, and Cabernet Pfeffer), and the Cabernet Pfeffer. Check out his
website for all the tasting notes.
And once again, thank you all for your support.
cheers!

Fuck yes, Maynardism and all its glory. Sad to say I haven't tasted your wine yet.. I'm saving my bottle of 2004 Nagual Del Sensei for a special occasion.
