This used to be my facebook. But now facebook is my facebook and i haven't been on here in months. Today i had trouble remembering my password.
Still in Korea. Still at the same job.
It's amazing how much of who I am today can be traced back to this site. Liberal, veggie expat. Honestly i guess I was in the process of migrating in...

I can agree with just about everything you said my friend, I hope all is well!
There comes a point when the price of doing what you love (living abroad, traveling, seeing the world, etc...) becomes too much. Saying goodbye to my niece and nephew tonight made me realize i'm nearing that point.
Goodbye n8tvegrl. You will be missed. Life's too short. In a related story, my sister is dying of liver disease. Take care of yourselves people. You only get one shot at things here.

Well...
had a rough spell
for a minute.
Expect 5.10ish to be another one.
Fuck those
Hallmark days.
Getting by though.
Thanks for asking.
I can totally relate
to the distance thing.
Hopefully the internet
keeps things distant
until I REALLY want
to cope with them.

She had youg kids? Aw, man, damn it. That fucking sucks, man.
It sounds to me like your sister and my brother are a lot alike. I've just been waiting to get "the call" about him for years now. I hope you and your sis get to mend those fences.
Thanks for the compliment on the new poster. I've been in thebusiness for the better part of a decade now and that's my first feature, lol. Things are going well, I guess. I'm just now making my return after having been out for the past few months due to an injury and work. Thanks for asking.
How goes things in your part of the world?

I remember a Saturday back in '91 when I had just woken up at my Dad's place. I, with my PJs on dashed downstairs and excitedly turned on MTV and smelled teen spirit for the first time....
Fifteen years past his death, I wonder where'd we'd be with him and where we'd have been without him. I guess the point though is really that we...

Crazy...
that is totally one of those things
where I won't remember exactly where
I was...but...I remember how I felt.
As many times as you can look back
at your teen years and
do the head slap for being so stupid, emo, whatever
this wasn't one, for me.
I had a falling out with one of my best friends
and we called each other to be consoled.
We made up and kind of
grieved.
Crazy to think how someone
you never met
affects you so much.
Your last point is so poignant...
word.

Sometimes i feel like i'm really, really good at pretending. And it sucks.
Six months cigarettes free.
Laos was awesome. Go there before it's too late people.
My money's worth two thirds of what it was last year at this time....less than two thirds actually. At least i have a job and i like it for the most part.
I don't know what else to...

to realize
I have it
pretty damn good.

and never say stop payment in time.

I'm sitting here in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand about to head into Laos. The Steelers won the Superbowl in spectacular fashion. I found the ONE book i was looking for in Thailand to read on my trip. Life's pretty sweet right now.
I just finished the book Fastfood Nation and i must say that if I weren't a veggie already, i'd certainly be one after...

might as well country hop some more..

How have you been?

First, the Steelers get into the Superbowl!
Second, Obama is inaugurated!
Third, i got my visa for work here renewed despite all the odds against me!
Fourth is actually next week, but i'm finally heading to vacation for a month in SE Asia. Hooray my job!
Fifth...one of my best friends from high school has contacted me via Facebook after 8 years...

*With tears in my eyes...* It's over. IT'S FINALLY OVER!!!!!!!!
Now that the Bush presidency is nearing it's end and the "Legacy Tour" is over, i have an observation: If your self-touted greatest achievement as leader of the world's most powerful nation is that you kept us safe from a diabetic living in a cave, that's pretty fucking pathetic.
pip:
But it''s actually pretty impressive considering who's greatest achievement it is. If you grade on the curve, he's not giving himself enough credit.
norritt:
yeah that's true

So, I went out today to pay some bills and go to my employers mailroom (most of us here have our packages delivered to the office mailroom as it's much easier). I noticed once again there was nothing for me there. The last time i got something from home in the mail was around mid august and my birthday is mid july....

_sarah_:
That really sucks.
pip:
A very fitting quote. For me it's more about hitting back. I did the "keep standing" thing for a long time fulfilling, and that is not fulfilling or rewarding at all. So to me fighting back is what it is all about.
