Guess i should update this sweet sassy molassy....
So, for this year's Lent, i've decided to give up meat. I'm a pretty damn lapsed Catholic and all that stuff, but i figured this was the perfect spring board for trying to go veggie.
What's that you say? Max16MeatEater is going veggie? Well yes, yes i am. Why you ask?
To tell the truth, i'm not all that sure really. There's a lot of good reasons to do so...morals, ethics, more reasonable use of earth resources, weight loss, that stuff is so damn good now etc... I guess really though what it comes down to is that it's a challenge. I want to see if i can do this and i'm sure i have the willpower and mental strength, so we'll just see where that road leads.
In other news, my friend Phil finally came home from the hell that is Iraq. He was in it from the very beginning. From the buildup in Kuwait to the drive to Baghdad. He's pretty much the same guy--caustic, acerbic, non-PC, whitty and funny--but he's also different. It seems cliche to say this but he left a boy and came back like ten times the man he was. He's got such an intense look in his eyes and carries himself so much more confidently it's amazing. It's hard to look him in the eyes.
I guess both of us have changed a lot over the past year. He took one look at my long hair and said, "What are you? Lord Byron now?" Haha....it was like an inch long when he left and now it's about 8+ inches. So i guess we'll just see what the dynamic's like now.
That's all for now my skeezy perneezies, check ya on the fizzle!
