Update! Sorry I've been so MIA, but school started this past week, and re-adjusting to waking at 6:30 am has not been easy. And I havn't had much to write about, just working and schooling and pining over boys that live 3000 miles away.
But yesterday stuff happened. I think, perhaps, yesterday ranks amongst the all around best days of my life. It went something like this.
I awoke bright and early and stumbled to the shower, cleaned myself up, and sat down to ingest my morning coffee at the computer. And what did I find waiting for me in my email inbox? An e-ticket, bought and paid for, to DC!!! I'm so excited! I get to go back to DC in 20 days (and counting), because Painbearer is the sweetest boy in the whole world, and I just can't get enough of him.
From there it was off to work which was nothing special. I left work early though, because I had an interview with the head Zoologist at the College of Creative Studies, which just so happens to be my dream school. The CCS is a small college within the University here, and is often described as 'A grad school for undergrads.' It is rigorous, difficult, and exclusive. It is the best opportunity at the best education, as students are expected to be doing graduate level research on top of their normal curriculum. And I wanted it.
So I had this interview with the head Zooologist, who also happens to be a Parisitologist, which just so happens to be my field of interest. So of course I was nervous and excited and feeling the pressure of "the rest of your life" hanging over me. He did most of the talking, and that was fine with me, and then after this long description of the program, he said something to the effect of "...and so we'd really like it if you could be a part of it."
So my mouth kind of dropped open and I was like "Wait...um...wait hold on...did you just...am I in?" And he said yes, all grinning like, and I was like "Ok, I'm gonna cry a little bit now, don't mind me." It was so overwhelmingly amazing, and I was not expecting that at all. I thought it was just an interview! And on top of getting accepted, he asked me personally to sign on with him and his research, which is in parasitology and exactly what I want to do! And he said he wanted to get me a paid summer position in his lab, and he gave me a packet about the research their doing, and he gave me a book on Parasites to read, and I was just so overwhelmed and dumfounded and it still seems too good to be true.
This is something I have worked so hard for, and now it's going to happen, and it's like this huge piece of my life, this huge chunk of time, just fell into place and shaped my future. I'm so happy right now.
Anyway, so last night I went out with miss Fractal and met the SGSB people. It was our first regional event and it was awesome meeting new SG people, and seeing some familiar faces that it's been too long since I've seen. I had to leave early because my tummy was killing me, but it was fun nonetheless. You guys rock. Let's go bowling.
Me and Miss Fractal
Me and Delusion
SGSB : dalguy (who I knew in highschool! weird! ), Fractal, me, delusion, Odette, and capitalistfig.
PS - SG members are figgin hot. Why is that?
PPS - I'm eating cheesecake for breakfast. muahahaha.
PPPS - this guy rocks my socks off.
that is all.
