Yesterday was Maurauders wild kingdom.

Whilst enjoying my morning nicotine and coffee in the backard, I noticed my dogs acting funny in a corner of the garden. Upon investigation I found them 'playing' with a poor half dead gopher they had exhumed from the soil. It was beyond saving, and the Boy had to finish it off with a shovel. Say a prayer.

I got my chance to redeem the injustice that afternoon. Leaving work I noticed a dove in the parkinglot that didn't move when I approached it. When I got very near it, it attempted to run away but couldn't really walk. So I picked it up, after requesting that it not bite me (it complied), and drove all the way to the Humane Society holding it in my left hand and driving with my right. They were closed. So I drove to my biology professors house for some advice. He suggested a wild animal rescue group downtown, and luckily they were open. I handed the bird off to them and they seemed hopefull, and I picked up a volunteer application 'cause they were so friendly.

Yes, another chapter in my exciting life....
