I went to the beach yesterday and it was so amazingly beautiful. It was dusk and the fog was so thick you couldn't see your fand stretched out in front of you. The same gale that granted us the fogbank was also responsible for the untimely demise of an entire smack (did you know a group of jellyfish is called a 'smack'? Nither did I, I just googled it!) of Valella valella onto the beach. The poor little buggers have no individual locomotion, and are at the mercy of the winds. There were litterally thousands of them littering the shore. This is what they look like :
See, they have their little 'sail', and the wind just pushes them along, which has earned them the nickname of By-the-Wind Sailors, and...oh, there I go geeking out again.
And in other news, I pretty much started smoking again. I'm not too happy about that. So - Hooray for the humble and glorious Valella Valella!!!
