i got a totally kickass promo today at work, by a group called Stolen Babies. it's great!!! we already had one promo copy come in and one of my coworkers snatched it up but after she played it a couple times i started digging it and i SQUEALED with happiness when i came in this morning to a big box of promos that one of the guys from the office had dropped off, with another Stolen Babies on top!! hooray! it's..umm...spooky?? female vocals that get a little Jack Off Jill-esque at the screamier moments and organ work that reminds me of Dog Fashion Disco. and ADORABLE cover art by Crab Scrambly!
with our checks this week we got a packet of papers outlining the starting wage going up for the company, which meant we all got instant raises. there was also a little section on new positions (some name and duty changes and stuff) and one thing i noticed was that there were TWO salaried positions listed - manager and senior assistant manager. ummmm....what the hell is the difference betwen a regular assistant manager and a SENIOR assistant manager??? and why aren't i one? if it's a new thing then i think i'm justified in expecting a quasi-promotion and a crazy raise. unless it's just for the big-timers, the warehouse by the mall and shit like that. buuuuttt....i really wonder how much it pays. not much but even $20K/year would be pretty awesome for little old me who is barely making $1000/week with my hourly pay.
i better not start dreaming or anything but i may need to have a talk with the manager tomorrow....
