Chronic 2001 somehow worms its way into people's cd collections without them intending it to....it was in a random cd case behind the correct cd in my boyfriend's collection and i got a free copy at work today when someone accidentally bought back a copy of the original Chronic and 2001 was the disc in it, discovered by me later.

great, i have to fire someone today. and i can't afford to lose anyone else right now but not firing him would be ludicrous.
also, i saw Gogol Bordello last weekend. it was fucking great. the only downside was that it was in a college gymnasium so retarded stereotypical college students abounded (and overly white rich ones at that). i'm very glad i went but...

Hello...long time no see.
At least you got to see them. I was going to see them tomorrow night, but then Qui announced a show here (David Yow is one of my favorite frontmen ever)... As it turns out though, I'm not going to either because I couldn't decide which I wanted to see more and one of my best friends is having a horror movie marathon at his place.

you look so much like someone I used to know that its creeping me out lol. sry I know how random this is, and I feel you with the college towns. massive amounts of drunk college kids is one ofthe most annoying forces in the world. =/ gag*
speaking of Eugene Hutz DJing at Mehenata in NYC....fuckin' J.U.F. Gogol Bordello vs. Tamir Muskat = YOU HAD BEST FUCKING HEAR THIS SHIT. i will not go to the clubs and dance to the latest shitty R&B remixes. no, i will go to the gypsy club and dance to THIS.

got a temporary summer employee, too! have a good week!
vacation to New York was cancelled. no gypsy goodness for me this time around, but the Michaels and Sage both fucking rocked my world. and apparently Eugene Hutz DJs at some gypsy club in NYC, so i know where i'm going next time. also my best friend who i'd be staying with there has an asshole roommate who assumed i was a total druggie because...

duder, you don't want to start a record collection, because once you do, you won't be able to stop and pretty soon you'll be like me and can't take a step in your house without encountering some records!
so yeah, if you set up that futon thingy i may just have to come over for a visit....

so i think i got an apartment. i mean, i gave them $320 and all. so as long as some phantom bad credit shows up (it shouldn't, i dan't have ANY credit) then i've got myself an affordable, clean, cute little third-floor place with skylights over a river. 15 minutes closer to my boyfriend and 10 minutes away from work.
now the mass home supply...

that apartment is only $320 a month? that's $100 less than my room in a 4 bedroom house!
i forget, what kind of dollies do you collect?

awesome. this week's been a shitty one for me, so i'm glad to hear some good news. congrats on the new place!
living here is laaaaame. there were plenty of apartments in town when the overprivelegd college students staged their yearly mass exodus to go back to mommy and daddy. but they went fast and my friend and i got screwed over on a nice place. landlords around here are dicks and won't take "well i smoke but very lightly and never inside anyway" for an answer...

hopefully you will be extricating yourself from your current living situation. you've lived away from your parents before, haven't you?

Sorry to hear life is a series of disappointments & annoyances for you lately. I'll send along good thoughts in hopes they'll improve soon.
With regards to your comments you left me, "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" is awesome...I read that in high school and even made a t-shirt for a project I did on it. As for I Am Legend, I've meant to read that for years, but I keep forgetting in lieu of other books that come my way or authors that I get hung up on (like Palahniuk). I've always heard great things about it though.
Take it easy...

i loooooove Bjork, and my favorite song of hers is Pluto, from Homogenic. you know, the song where she just fucking screams her little Icelandic lungs out. almost all of my favorite songs involve a girl screaming.
conversely, on May 8th, don't just buy Bjork's new album, pick up Sage Francis's new one as well. just fucking do it. if you're not completely blown away,...

I've only listened to Volta once so far because I can't stop listening to Human the Death Dance, but I like it, especially "Declare Independence."
Human the Death Dance arrived in my mailbox Saturday with a bunch of swag in the envelope (a pin, a pair of stickers, a knowmore.org postcard, an instrumental version of the new album, and an autographed poster). It reminds me of Sick of Waging War in a lot of ways, and I love that album. My fave song right now is "Midgets & Giants." And I'm going to look into Jolie Holland in the near future...I really dig her voice.

Sage rapped to/about you? That beats everything. The only thing he said to me when I saw him was "cool shirt" as he walked inside the venue, which was in reference to the Public Enemy t-shirt I had on. Getting worked into a song is a million times cooler though.
on the topic of currently-airing new comedy shows:
i have come to the conclusion that those who don't find the humor in the Sarah Silverman Program, The Naked Trucker and T-Bones Show, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! and Saul of The Molemen just don't get it. to those people i say: more laffs for me.

Naked Trucker & Tbones Show is crawling up higher on my list every week. I was disappointed with the first episode, but I think that had more to do with Comedy Central pushing it in my face every day for over a month, showing clips from it instead of leaving me to discover it on my own. But beyond the first one, every episode has been really funny, and I've even watched the replays on Wednesday nights just to see it again. It's brilliant. So change that 3 to 4. Oh, wait, I have a friend who also watches it (that's 5), and others who I'm trying to get into it, but haven't had a proper chance to...so we'll grow in number. p.s.--I want my "Paint-stickin" ringtone dammit!
Sarah Silverman rules as well...you said everything I would have, so I'll leave it at that.
As for the other two shows, I haven't given either one a chance. I haven't liked the other shows Tim and Eric did, and Saul just looks awful from the commercials. If Cartoon Network produced more quality programs, I might've given them a chance already, but with some of the crap on there I'm always hesitant to check out new shows. They do, however, have some of my favorites like Moral Orel, Metalocalypse, ATHF, Venture Bros., plus the reruns of Futurama and Family Guy. And I love Robot Chicken, but that's because I'm far too familiar with most of the stuff they make fun of. They're not always hilarious, but I do enjoy most of it. Anyways, I may give each of those shows a chance now, since you've proved to be right on so many other things.

when i get snacky at night, i want CHEESE.
i don't know why.
specifically, cheapo mozzarella. there's an unopened bag in the fridge but i know if i open it i'll eat it all in 2-3 days and i didn't buy it so that's not ok.
looks like i ought to start buying string cheese, then.
mmmm, string cheese.

Fuck yeah. My brother and I recently had a conversation about how when we want something awesome and snacky we'd take a block of cheddar over a candy bar any day.
Getting drunk alone in your room is fantastic, especially when there's dancing involved, and I do it often, maybe too often, but last night was one of those sad bastard nights. You know, THOSE nights. Yeah. Tonight will be better. I'm gonna go see The Octopus Project!
