'The game is an interactive, adrenaline pumping global hit that makes no bones about the fact that the setting, fictional 'Liberty City', bears a striking resemblance to New York City. But the online world just recently became aware of how accurate the game's designers were. In fact, Grand Theft Auto IV's landscape offers an incredibly accurate virtual tour of the Big Apple. The attention to detail and clever 'rebranding' of Manhattan's must-sees caught Matthew Johnston's eye while he was there on holiday, and when he returned to Northern Ireland the impulse struck him to match his travel snaps against gaming landscapes. What he discovered caught the world's attention ... literally overnight.
Johnston posted his findings on his Flickr.com site, and within days had thousands of hits, as well as profile features on gaming websites, and even in the UK broadsheet theDaily Telegraph.
