I think, as long as there are people who will sucker other people with pyramid scams, investment schemes, get-rich-quick programs and all other sorts of garbage like that (which is to say- people who haven't learned not to be parasitic, and people who haven't learned to see through that kind of bullshit), that the high road of a true democracy will continue to be sold out by slimy politicians, media whores, etc...

I, too, am taking a bit of a breather from my standard voracious news consumption. I'm going to rest for a bit, and then try to pace myself and stay involved in politics at a pace I can handle and stay effective without burning out and taking too much time away from what really matters in life -- family, friends, community, good coffee -- and SG!
