I am reading "Mr. Nice" by Howard Marks at the moment. Lyvia pointed it out to me when we were shopping in Bluewater and said it was amazing, I had heard of it and seen it on shelves before and since it was only 4 I bought it. This man is my new Idol. I'm about half way through it so far and I am already so jealous that people get to live such exciting lives. For those that are not aware of Mr. Marks he is an Oxford graduate turned cannabis smuggler and all round lovely bloke. I strongly recommend reading it, although it will make you sad that you live in a time of computer data bases and such which I would imagine makes a lot of what he did impossible now, so you wont be able to copy him.
As a result of reading it I have gone on a bit of a Rolling Stones trip...
I do love the Rolling Stones, they are just what I need to listen to right now.
Also I have been watching the The Pacific. So far it has been really good, the last two episodes have been slower paced which is ok because it has helped to make you care about the characters more as in the first two episodes you didn't get much of a chance to get to know them.
Shows like this always make me wish I had joined the Army, I know I would have been happier there in a lot of ways. It also makes me kind of sad that our generation has no great struggle to throw ourselves into. I know that war can bring out the base and terrible side of human nature, and show case it for the world to shake its head at, but it also brings out the best in people as well. Its a shame that people come together in combat in a way that seems so alien in everyday life.
I also want these shoes so badly, my current ones are starting too fall apart but I cant afford to replace them, stupid other clothes i bought!!!
Tom is home on Monday, and he is round my house on Wednesday. I am so excited, because I really have missed him. I have never met anyone who is quite as good friends as Tom and I. We are constantly laughing whenever we are together. He is an absolute diamond.
My friend Dane is also back from Exeter for good this week, which means I will finally be able to get out of the house and down the pub on a regular basis. I need to get out of the house, and no offence but I need to spend a hell of a lot less time on the interweb....well maybe not a hell of a lot, but a little bit more!
Its also going to help a lot having someone else hunting for jobs with me, Tom and Tracey keep texting me to tell me we all have to move to London as soon as possible and I completely agree. I have really missed living with Tom and Dane and Rob since uni finished and I missed out on the flat in London last year which was a shame. Its going to be great just sitting in each others rooms at all hours of the day and night, going out clubbing on a whim again, week long rave parties (or at least weekend long as we will all be working full time) and everyone cuddling up in the living room and watching trash TV.
I'm basically going to try and hibernate for a week until he is here. This week is going to be a hard week for a number of reasons but I will be able to forget that on the 14th, Tom has a way of making me see things in a better light. Apparently he has bought us matching t-shirts...gay. I will be intrigued to see what they are like!
I realise this blog got a bit gay towards the end...deal with it
ps. I am definately not gay.
