The past 9 months has gone really damn quick. Sophie now has 6 teeth and is eating solids like a champ. So far she really likes Mexican and Vietnamese. She crawls really fast and has started to climb stairs as well, although I wish she knew how to stand before she braves the steps.
I'm not sure if there is anything better than watching her recognize me from across the room, smile, then start to crawl toward me. She laughs the whole way and then climbs all over me. I still have little bouts of crying because of how much I love her. This is definitely the greatest thing I've ever been apart of. My wife has (as expected) turned out to be a fantastic mother.
The house is still in chaos. I have managed to replace about 90% of the electrical and 50% of the plumbing so far. The rest of those 2 are tied up in the double bathroom remodel. I will be taking down a tree in the back yard soon. A friend who is an arborist is doing for me with my help. I'm going to be helping him this winter with tree work. I'm a skilled rigger, but I have no real experience with rigging trees, so he's going to teach me the particulars with my tree.
I have been doing theatre work again. I've been working part time at the Lied Center when I've got spare time and they need me. I also put a call into I.A.T.S.E. 151 to see about joining. The B.A>. said they would probably have a couple of days at the end of the month for me to work with them. If they like what they see, I think they might let me join. I do have to letters of recommendation from Local 482 as well as Assembly Hall at U of I.
At the shop, I finally made the switch to all internally threaded jewelry. That makes us the only shop in the area to be all internal. We are looking into putting full walls (I only have half walls now) in my station so I can finally be an A.P.P. member. It would be awesome to be able to join before the convention in June. I just booked a cheap as flight to Vegas for the convention.
We celebrated a year of marriage ( a few months back) as well 2 years of being home owners. I also have a few other business opportunities in the works, but nothing concrete. Over all, I gotta say life is really good.
