A weekend where I actually did things for once, what a shock. The main part of it was spent in the company of Maz, CJ and Kim, so to avoid me writing their names out a thousand times please just assume they were at everything. First of all on Saturday me friend Hellen came down for the afternoon to talk houses, squirrels and goth politics. We trundled along to Wetherspoons and Japanic for a couple of hours until she returned to York and the bulk mass of the nefarious trio arrived. Wendy House was prepared for and attended. It was made good by the addition of several friends, but musically it was the usual pants. Mutate is dull stuff with the occasional light of a track I actually know/care about, and the main room was the usual predictable sheep-fest. But kindly companions and good cheer made it a cool night, helped along by our fortune in obtaining taxis to and from. We settled back at mine and promptly collapsed in noisy heaps until morning.
Sunday was mostly spent in recovery, although also at Pizza Hut where I stuffed myself with pizza (obviously) and milk until I was actually in pain. It was a welcome pain though, since I haven't eaten much for about a week. No particular reason, just my capricious bowels. Then came Black Sheep and my guest DJ spot, which went quite well. My mixing was sloppy at first, but only to be expected given how long I've been out of the game and since I was working with a new system. I played a varied mix of stuff, which I will document here for your edification:
Sheep On Drugs - "15 Minutes Of Fame"
VNV Nation - "Chrome"
Cubanate - "Oxyacetylene"
Atari Teenage Riot - "Too Dead For Me"
Nine Inch Nails - "Last"
Pop Will Eat Itself - "Ich Bin Ein Auslander"
Ministry - "N.W.O."
Killing Joke - "Wardance"
Combichrist - "This Shit Will Fuck You Up"
Assemblage 23 - "Divide"
Razed In Black - "Share This Poison"
Collide - "Monochrome"
The Cure - "Just Like Heaven"
Something of a clashing mixture, but it flowed well and seem to be received with appreciation for the most part. I had quite a few on the floor, mostly friends in support (with laneyspeedhorn, Ryan and Kate turning up to keep me afloat as well) but still made me feel good about it. I really need to get my DJ glands flowing again, it's been way too long since I had anything even approaching a regular slot.
Then we all went our seperate ways and I managed to secure myself some cheesy chips to round off the night. Maz and I came back and once again collapsed into a noisy heap. Today has been a mostly unsuccessful recovery from the strain of actually DOING SOMETHING with my weekend. Skived the day off work? Oh my yes. And in additional grooviness, I am now the proud owner of a PS2 courtesy of Kim. Finally all my Futurama DVDs can be put to good use without an inconvenient reorganisation of my computer desk and bed. Until next time, this is Mr Organic saying good night and fuck off.

Nice one on throwing "NWO" followed by "Wardance" into the mix though!
I'll plump for: Fish Fry and Kerosene.
