So it was my first time back in York this weekend gone. I was sort of anticipating it with a mixture of cheerfulness and dread, mainly because I could see the place and the people feeling alien to me after being away for such a long time. But I was proved utterly wrong by the joy I felt at walking the streets again and by the welcome I got from my friends. It's spurred me on even more, and I'm returning this weekend for more househunting and for my best friend Moo's birthday.
As for what I actually did... lots of mooching around with my friend Ryan (the craziest Irishman you will ever meet), chatting to ex/friend Hellen and a band meeting with our label that went really well. We have two new members and it was good to welcome them into the fold, especially since I hadn't actually even met one of them before. Helena (our label boss) was really good and had obviously put a lot of thought into the meeting, which managed to achieve a lot in the end. We won't be putting a great deal of effort into promoting the EP on it's initial release, but it will hopefully be available from November.
Other than that, not much to tell. Ventured out to an indie club last Friday with some mates, which was fun. I managed to get The Cure played so I was a happy panda - I'd DJ'ed the night before and rocked the house with a little Deicide so it was excellent to have a change and a contrast...

Haha! Getting one of "your" records played in a club where it (perhaps) doesn't belong is always a thrill. Good work.
