The first steps toward some positive action have been taken this week. First of all I am now officially on Jobseeker's benefits (wow that sounds so much better than 'the dole'). I just have to have a phone interview tomorrow and then they'll start giving me money. Mmm, precious money... I shall hopefully get some interviews through them at some point soon, and then be on track with earning some cash.
I may also be moving into a flat my dad has for legal reasons (don't ask) in Preston. To be honest, I don't particularly like Preston but it's better than Blackpool and a step closer to where I want to go. It also means removing myself from the parental home, which will make me happier in itself. It's not that I don't like my parents, or that I don't get along with them. I am just used to having independence now and get very edgy when people keep tabs on my movements. I just function far better out in the big wide world with no one to fall back on.
In addition to this, my friend and drummer Wayne has offered to try and get me a position where he works (at a telecommunications company on a troubleshooting team). It means good pay, relatively low workloads and having my drummer as my boss. Classic all round. Of course that's over in the York area, where I want to be. Which is all good despite me not having the money to get over there just yet or having anywhere to live there if I did. But we'll cross those bridges when we come to them, eh?

I moved out a couple of years ago and I go back to see my parents and brother every now and again and don't know how he puts up with it. Don't get me wrong I love my family but the lack of privacy is insane
