I trimmed my Friends list a little. If you find yourself lonely without me on your Friends section, just request me and I'll add you again - nothing personal, I just trimmed off people with whom I have little commenting history.

I had a pretty typical weekend, really. Went out on Thursday and Friday to the local and danced like a maniac. Glassjaw, Pitchsifter and Refused in particular are responsible for the thousands of aches and pains my body is currently suffering. I even incurred a pit-style injury while flailing to 'New Noise' - and it's been a while since I did that. As I grow older I find myself less up for activities such as slamdancing, I've sort of been there and done that. Plus, not to sound like an aged bastard, but kids really do not know how to pit today. It's all flailing limbs and kicking, which is a dumb idea. Keep the elbows in and pinball, people. It's meant to be fun and vigorous, but not a pain and endurance test. Unless you're at a hardcore gig of course, in which case the aim is to find someone smaller than you and punch them repeatedly in the head.

Only kidding, folks. Or am I?

Those of you who read my Journal on a regular basis (you poor schmucks) may remember an entry from quite a while ago which I can't be bothered linking to. It involved a friend of mine and his troubles with a girl who was, to put it mildly, screwing him around. They have since got back together, and got engaged about a week ago. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm happy that he's happy. But still. Isn't getting married jumping the gun slightly? This is a girl who has done some damn fucked up things to him and others, and while people makes mistakes and can evolve, perhaps waiting longer than about a month and a half would be a good idea before proposing? Given the circumstances...

I have a bad history of not really being able to just be mindlessly happy for people at news they consider good but which I find a cause for alarm. I just don't like people jumping into situations that (to me) don't seem fully thought out. Not like on a day-to-day basis, although I am a pretty cautious individual. It's just that grand life-changing actions seem to be undertaken on an almost daily basis by certain friends of mine, and they usually end up regretting the consequences.

Am I being paranoid and overly cautious?

you lucky git! i wish my local club played new noise, i took it down once and they played it, just me and my mate danced to it and they said they didnt like it and probably wouldnt play it again. bastards!

sounds like you're bang on about your mates engagement.. but getting engaged doesnt always lead to marriage, my flatmate has been engaged twice but never took that walk down the aisle. your mate could be after a more secure relationship, often its more a symbolic thing than anything else.
