My body is completely worn out and knackered* - I have worked all weekend. And I mean ALL weekend. Split shifts meant I had 2 hours off on both days, and the rest of the time was pulling pints and sleeping. I know a lot of people have it worse, but likelihood is they're not on minimum wage. Not in this country, anyway. But fuck it, I have a right to complain so take it. Then last night, instead of doing the sensible thing and coming home to relax and sleep I went round to a workmate's house and talked until about 5 in the morning. Oh, and also delivered an extensive massage. No, not extensive in THAT way. And yes, I mean a proper massage. I AM a professional, you know. Well, I was. I have worked in a massage parlour. Yes, a proper one. Gah. You people.
So now my week is relatively work-free, having done the majority of my hours in two days. I shall enjoy it and celebrate via cinema and music. Going to see a couple of gigs in the nearish future, which will be cool. I haven't been to a 'big' gig since seeing Mogwai in April so it will be good to catch up. For those interested, I'm seeing the lovely Eden Maine in Lancaster on the 29th and the even lovelier Therapy? in Preston on December 1st. That's about it I think.
* For my American readers - 'knackered' is a piece of charming British vernacular describing the sensation of being run down, tired. exhausted. I am fully aware that it's an amusing word but I will not take kindly to it being referred to as 'cute'. And all the angels and demons themselves won't save you from being beaten to death with a spiky stick if you use the word 'quaint'.
