Hey! I'm Matt Francis, my friend @linnova recommended that I whip something up on here to let people know a little about me and what I do. So here goes...
Me: I'm the one on the left.
I'm a full-time photographer. I don't have any other jobs and manage to make a modest living and support my family (wife & son) while doing what I enjoy. I live in Swansea, MA which is just east of Providence, RI and just south of Boston. I took a few photography courses at Rhode Island School of Design a bunch of years ago and didn't really enjoy the level of instruction I was getting. I decided that it wasn't benefiting my career so I hung up RISD. Ironically, I have ended up teaching a few photo courses there in the past couple of years! Crazy right? Since then, I've gone on to work with dozens of magazines (Elle, Vogue, Vogue Teen, tons of motocross and motorcycle mags, etc.) I just recently photographed the President in a private home in Newport, RI which was a little stressful to say the least! Most of my living revolves around commercial apparel and fashion, real estate, boudoir, and motorcycle industry photography. Now, what's a nice guy like me doing in a place like this? Easy, it's fun! Commercial photography sucks! I've been here on SG for a couple of years and have love it. Cool people, cool places.
