What a shitty wet afternoon. I wish I was at home watching Buffy, I was off work yesterday to recover from the weekend and all I did was watch Buffy. Got through season 3 and 1 disk of season 4 in a day! Go me!
So, had more gigs again over the weekend as you may recall from my last post. We played on at a family pub on Saturday night. We had to set up all out gear in the worlds smallest space, difficult doesn't cover it. Anyway half way into our first set the manager comes over and says to me "your sounding great lads, drums are a bit loud, customers are complaining. Can you knock it down a bit". Can anybody else see the problems with that question?
Then we get to Sundays gig, which I have to say was fucking fantastic. We get there early, get setup. Sound check goes well and the people start filling the room. There was also a comedian on before us and was to be doing a small when we had a set break.
So he comes on, and he's a big guy. 38 stones worth of man. He was also wearing a t-shirt saying I beat anorexia, and all his jokes were about him being a big guy! Needless to say the crowd where all shouting........ yep you guessed it "Who eat all the pies?". To which he reacts by throwing his mic at the ground and leaving the venue.
At this point we came one, did our set and the crowd were fantastic. Glass being broke, tables and chairs turned and everyone dancing and singing along.
Can't wait to play again this Friday, going to a pub I know will have a crowd!
