Fast Food Rant II:
Oh it keeps gettin' better. I now have the problem of the value meal. Most times I order an entree (sandwich, nuggets, etc.) and a drink. That's it, just the main course and something to wash it down with. I have cut back on the amount of food I eat, so I don't want the fries and all of the extra shit.
So my typical trip through the drive through at the local fast food joints goes like this..."I want the chicken sandwich and a large sweet tea, that's it." And the immediate response that I get back is, "would you like the value meal?" NO!!!! If I wanted a damn value meal I would have ordered it. I don't want that much junk.
And a lot of them start to get pushy, like they have some damn quota to fill. The next line is usually, "are you sure?" Of course I respond with, "yes I'm sure, just the sandwich and the drink." But the bastards won't give up. They then ask, "it's only $0.25 more," or "it costs you $0.20 less." If I wanted to save money, I'd eat at home.
And sometimes I want a large drink, the burger and a small fry. And the people at the fast food places love to give me a large fry instead. They say, "oh well it's cheaper that way." I don't care. Give me what I freakin' ordered! There is a reason that I ordered it the way I did. For example, I hate to waist food. So I know how much I want to eat. That is the amount that I order. I don't care how much it costs. Again I'll eat at home if I want to save money.
I go to fast food restaurants for a quick meal that I don't have to cook. If I wasn't in a hurry, I'd probably go to a real restaurant. All I want is what I ordered, the way I ordered it, to pay and leave as soon as possible. Hence the term "fast food." So quit wasting our time, and listen people!
