lets talk about feminism.
One of your wonderful author, Monica Wittig, says once time "lesbians are not women".
what do you think about that ?
To explain my idea, I have asked to a friend to translate my french idea
The fundamentally differring concepts of "man" and "woman" are the base for that of "heterosexuality". According to Wittig, women are permanently bound in serfdom. As a result, either they become slaves and then they will have to progressively struggle for they freedom and rights, or they free themselves.
The concept of "woman" only exists as opposed to the concept of "man". In a women's world, the very word may be inexistant, as it refers to something that is contrary, or opposite. The binarity in humanity puts the two concepts in a parralel to better create the oppression one inflicts upon the other. Wittig reproaches feminists with questioning the genres instead of questioning the root concern: heterosexuality.
Wittig nevertheless omits that lesbians do not grow out of a closed circuit. They were born in a world where heterosexuality is the standard; thence they are women, although, admittedly, perhaps less than heterosexual women. Even if the word "woman" is merely construed in the society, they have been influenced in their construction. What she does not mention is that being a homosexual is a choice, consisting in choosing homosexuality over heterosexuality. If one construes him or herself "by opposition to", one cannot ignore the model he or she wants to counter. As an example, someone who decides to be an atheist construes him or herself without a god, not based on his inexistance.

Heterosexuality is normative but why ? Just because we need to have children like all animals.
But I think it is a choice to have sex qith the opposite sex or the same sex. I really want to keep the idea of choice you know. I have choosen to be an heterosexual (because of my education probably I don't know I'm not Freud ) .
Homosexuals have choosen to have sex relations with the same sex. I dont' misjudge of course !
For men and women. the word "men" exist only because the word "women" exist. The concept or men or women only exist because of the opposite too. Just look the etymology of the word "women" wo-men. Some american says "womyn"
You know I can not define what a woman is. I really don't know in fact. I only know it is not a man. So I can define a sex because the other exists. And lesbians are not in this representation because they don't grow up with men.
you say lesbian are more woman than heterosexual. So what is (and I don't say "who") a woman ? is a butch more woman ?
Whet I said are american theories from radical lesbians, I have to say .
Who is Matthew Shepard ? I don't know him .
