So, Im thinking that Ill try this online journal thing I dont think Ill be all hardcore about it, or online-journal-4-life.. But, the way I envision it, Ill put up at least one or two things a week and see if the benefits start rolling in haha, or whatever is supposed to happen.. And in my usual somewhat self deprecating way, I am going in under the assumption that nothing is..
So I am signing up for my spot in the Plebian Showboaters Club, and I am going to call the act of keeping one of these as such, but not in a critical or derogatory way.. Just because I dont really understand what these deals are all about. I mean, I can see the fun in putting yourself out there and humoring the exhibitionist in you, but it seems like most people write in one of these nowadays.. Most people wear socks too, but wheres the pageantry in that.. In the late 1800s it could have been considered exhibitionism for a woman to show her ankles, but things change and ankles arent that exciting anymore.
Thats kind of how I feel about this, well, in addition to seeing it as kind of a device reserved for the self-important.
So, in order to understand, I am going to sign up, see for myself, and unleash the curios. As you can see by this entry, you should plan on getting a lot of rants about nothing.
I watched a movie called Midnight Express last night.. I think it was Oliver Stones first movie? If Im wrong, Im sure someone will correct me in form of post*.
*the word the was omitted from in between in and form, to better make you picture the wonder twins becoming the post rather that form of water or whatever the fuck they normally form of*
So, the movie.. Its about an American who was imprisoned in Istanbul in the early 70s.
Its a true story, but a true story written by the dude who went through this. That means two things.
1. Its hard to believe that everything is in fact, fact
2. The dialogue is absolutely horrible. (I was hoping that Randy Quaid had the raw acting talent to pull it off, but it seems that in the late 70s he had not yet become the acting legend he is today)
The point is, and not only pertaining to this movie, that I realized, I have this sensationalized picture of what it is to live life in its rawest and most real form, that I see a movie like this and come away from it erroneously believing that what I am missing in my real life could be found by doing time in a Turkish prison.
Thats all Im giving you for now.
