A man linked to a local gang has been found murdered in a river here, police said.
The body of Nobuyuki Gido, 34, a resident of Aizuwakamatsu, was found in the Yugawa River in the city's Higashiyamamachi district Saturday night, according to local police. The lower part of his body was submerged in the 40- to 50-centimeter-deep river.
His body had several slash wounds, and an autopsy has proven that he had died about a day earlier. His car remains missing.
Gido has been linked to a local crime syndicate even though it has not been confirmed if he was a full member of the gang. He had been dragged into a dispute involving the organization, investigators said.
