A high school boy died and a high school girl was injured after jumping from a bridge into a speeding train in western Tokyo Thursday night in a suspected suicide pact, police said Friday.
Investigators said they believe that the boy and the girl jumped from a pedestrian overpass onto the Hachiko Line track in a suicide pact and were hit by an oncoming train, noting that their bicycles and bags were left on the bridge. They were dressed in high school uniforms. No suicide note has been discovered.
