The brightest stars may owe their origin to black holes
Astronomers studying the black hole known as Sagittarius A, have peered through the telescopes at the Chandra X-ray Observatory to literally count the stars that are separated by a light year from the black hole's center. The 10,000 odd stars tally actually supports the view that the thick gas discs' effectively counter the black hole's tidal forces in tug-of-war fashion to possibly give rise to new stars.
Massive black holes are usually known for violence and destruction So it's remarkable that this black hole helped create new stars, not just destroy them". Sterl Phinney, California Institute of Technology's theoretical astrophysics professor.
While the actually phenomenon of the formation of stars maybe too complex for a large part of humanity to understand, the one thing that comes out from the new theory is that the images that black holes conjure up as being spaceship gobbling galactic phenomena may no longer hold true. For all you know, those very discs near the mouths of the black hole may take space ships on a journey to new stars even as the oblivion ceases to be what it used to be.
