This post is for Girlie.
The Rufus concert was last night and it was wonderful. It was a 2 and a half hour drive there (two hour drive back, bahaha) and well worth it. We got there about forty-five minutes before the concert started and ended up sitting a little to the right, in the fifth row.. had a great view, nonetheless, though. He didn't perform "April Fools," though. *whine* We ended up sitting near this girl with a horribly eighties hair-do who had to clap/make a noise for EVERYTHING. I mean, Rufus smiles and "OOOOWE!" I wanted to slap her.
It was just him and the piano or guitar the whole night. Rufus messed up a bunch on "Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk," hehe. He started over once and just started "Uhhh huuuh blaaah"ing to other parts of it. It was cute and he was all making jokes about it. This was his first show back in the states (He's been over in Europe) and he'd only been back for a day or two. I belive this was more of a Want Two promotion tour. (November sixteen, yayy!)
Uhmm.. Yeah. I twas wonderful. I want to see more Rufus concerts. And, my digicam sucks, but here:
There's some more crappy shots in the directory, too. -_-
Buut. yayyy. Well worth the drive-age and money. I usually find myself at rock shows, kind of getting bored and wanting it to end.. but with Rufus I was all "Ee, moooore. Longer! No, we want a third encore!" I don't think there was one point where I wasn't smiling - I have been waiting almost four years to see him now. Hehe. I love him even more now. *swoon*
I want to make a Rufus group.

Man. I'm glad you had fun, doll. I did, too, when I saw him last year. I'm totally flattered that your ENTIRE JOURNAL is dedicated to me!!! And yes....we should co-own the Ultimate Rufus SG Group.
The one song that I've yet to see him play live is 'The Tower of Learning'. It's one of those songs that just immediately brings me to tears. I haven't given up hope, though! Maybe the next time I see him wandering around Union Square I'll ask him to serenade me.
