Well, shows over. It was fun. It impressed the mother-in-law (unexpected). Cast party had no party killer moments, even if it did lack effective tequila duel.
I'm suddenly captain popular at work. I went from I-only-have-three-shifts-this-week-I-may-starve-and-die to what-do-you-mean-I'm-working-eleven-days-in-a-row? This much work at current job is going to make searching for a new one difficult. But I make more money. Dilemma, indeed.
Otherwise, continuing with the audition plug for another few days:
Scorpio Theatre is holding auditions for "U-Boat of the Soul" at Illuminata Dramatic Arts Workspace (144, 517 10th Avenue South West, Calgary, Alberta) from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm on Sunday, October 2nd, 2005.
Synopsis: Phil Payton, writer-in-residence for Taranto Theatre, has a problem. He's got one night to produce a new work, but he's been suffering from writer's block ever since splitting with his girlfriend...one of his current bosses. In a desperate bid to keep his job, Phil's trotting out his old spy hero, Dirk Rhombus, for another wacky adventure...but Dirk's not having it. Phil's fictional creation takes him on a journey to see just what spy thrillers can say about the world we live in and about Phil himself. WARNING: Contains nudity, coarse language, and large, hairy spiders fired at the audience through trap doors in the seats. Okay, just kidding about that last one.
Show dates are December 7 - 10 at 8:00 pm and December 14 - 17 at 8:00 pm at Dancer's Studio West (2007 10th Avenue South West).
We are looking for:
One female, 18-25, partial nudity required.
One male, 18+, partial nudity required.
One male, 18+, no nudity requirement.
Please prepare a two-minute comedic monologue.
Call 999-2024 or e-mail <scorpio.info@shaw.ca> for more information and to book an audition time.
See you later!
