I firmly believe Beauty to be related to impressions. The better the impression you make on someone, the more beautiful you appear.
Impressions govern, to some extent anyway, the beauty of a person. But it is not limited to impressions alone.
True, you can think a person to be beautiful, and if they act in a way that does not impress you, they all of a sudden seem unattractive to you. This is because you discover a part of them that overshadows their beauty.
In an argument with your partner, do you lose sight of how beautiful you think them to be?
This also works in the way of art. Certain art impresses certain types of people, depending on ethnic background, education and class. In this way, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I attempt to clarify this definition further.
I think that the word *beauty* itself, is overused. It is used in relation to things that take away the seriousness of it's meaning.
"that carpet is beautiful"
"this haircut is beautiful"
Beauty is a term that should be reserved for something of great importance to yourself. The carpet can be nice carpet, without being beautiful.
I can really only speak out of personal experience, or what I find to be beautiful. So my opinions on such controversial things may be somewhat biased.
What are your opinions? I'd appreciate some feedback.

What you say is true from a certain point of view, however all that can change once beauty is in the eye of the beer hollder
and then there is the pesky 10th beer mystery bus that takes all the ugly people away ![wink](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/wink.6a5555b139e7.gif)
