Dude, my personal favourite is a series of books by this guy called Stephen Donaldson, who wrote a bunch of novels called ‘The Chronicles Of Thomas Covenant’; high fantasy that’s somehow introspective, tackling Gods, Monsters and the moral choices we face as humans. Close (real close) behind this series, would be the sagas of Elric of Melniboné - still introspective, but less pondering about the biggest questions in the Universe and more killing people with a Demon sword, lamenting said killings, then doing it all over again.
