Well, I am kinda stuck in Nice, France (pronounced neece). That is I can't seem to get on a train and leave this place, I think part of the reason is that I am tired of traveling. It is pretty cool here. Yes that's right Nice is nice. Ha ha ha.
Anyways, while in Brussels, I decided to on a whim to go to Munich. I love that, just being able to hop on a train and go wherever!!! So I stayed in Munich for one night. Munich is nice, it is in the heart of Bavaria, which is quite different from Berlin or Hamburg. More beer is one reason. Oh and another thing, I had to pay 2.10 to use the bathroom, how insane is that?!?!?!?!?!?! I walked around Munich all day and ended up in the English Gardens, a HUGE park in the city. They even had a nude sunbathing place there (no I didn't go, just walked by).
I went to Lyon, France next, which was interesting. It was my first day in France. It is hard to brush up on the French in one day. Well even now I am just getting by, and I've been in France for 3 or 4 days now. So the highlight of Lyon was Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon), which was up on a hill. They had a huge church and a big Roman ampitheather.
Woke up early and headed to Nice. As I found my assigned seat, which was in an 8 seat compartment, the first thing that catches my eye is 4 uniformed policeman sitting there. Next I noticed a guy in the middle of them with handcuffs. Looked like he was having fun.
There are two things which I think makes Nice wonderful. First is the beach. It isn't your ordinary beach. It is a rock beach, which is cool if you bring a mat (the hotel supplies them). The second nice thing about Nice is that it is just like an Italian town here in France (the Italian border is 30 minutes away). You've got gelato (which I have been eating WAY too much of), and Italian food.
I have met a cool Irish couple that I have been chillin' with for two days. We had a blast last night. We went to get some dinner stuff at the grocery store and headed for the beach because we heard that they were having fireworks. They were the best fireworks I have ever seen. It was in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Liberation of France from Germany during WWII. Pretty neat, they had a parade and were even giving out free wine!
Today looked kinda cloudy in the morning so I went to Monaco (which is 20 min by train), where the rich and famous go. I'm not joking. You should have seen the size of those yahts!! I even saw a ferrari!!! They have a huge casino. I had to get out fast, though, too many snotty people there spending money like its nobody's business.
Ok, one bad thing has happened to me while in Nice but I haven't let it get me down. I got pickpocketed! I guess I just let my guard down. It is ok though, they only got 15 euros.
