good times lately for this girl i feel free on so many levels, and it makes me smile. school is staring back up again, and after the long break i've had it's time to get the ball rolling again.

so i'm still lovin' my new short hair, it's so easy to manage and i can do my swimming with much more ease. i love to swim, when i was 13 i swam competetively on a swim team. i won state in backstroke and it was awesome! i was never really serious enough to be hardcore and train for the olympics, but i did alright. i was too into other things (not particularly good things either) and i didn't take anything seriously at 13. besides, the whole competition thing was too stressful. so, now i just go to the gym and swim a few laps here and there. when i had my dreads, i couldn't swim as often or as fast. the dreadies were so heavy when they were wet!

i'm stayin in tonight. i got pretty drunk last night and hungover this morning, my liver and head need a break. i think i'll read my parakeet book. i'm thinking of getting one to have as a cheerful addition to my family. my dogs and cats are fine around any other animal they've come in contact with, including birds and reptiles. of course, the bird will not be around the dogs or cats if i'm not present. i trust them, but i'm not willing to take chances on unsupervised encounters. pets, no matter how smart they seem to us, are still animals with instincts.
