So, Groovy Girl, I was thinking... How about Saturday instead of tomorrow? Maybe we can have lunch buffet in the India Cafe, if you like the idea, and dinner elsewhere. This way, we have more time to record a lot of stuff (I have to do a lot of stuff this afternoon, so I will not be able to finish yours today.)

Cheers,
LF

The Sixth Step

"This is your captain speaking. We are just above the Palm Springs international airport, and in a few moments we will be descending. At that time we will turn on the fasten seatbelts sign and ask you to do so. It's a sunny 74 degrees out on this Saturday morning. Thank you for flying United Airlines; we hope you enjoy your stay...

(...) I walk with Autumn's hand in mine. It's so much bigger than the last time I held it. I don't know how that's possible. I just know that if I don't ever let go of it again, it will seem as if it never grew.

Wow.... shocked love

Good luck with your catfish grabblin or grabbin. I'm not sure what that is. Be careful they have 3 thorns sticking out their head. Have fun if you go and take pictures. smile

Hey, at least it was Buffy. Buffy on any day makes a good day. A great day if you're watching "Hush" or "Once More With Feeling." Or really anything with Faith kicking ass. love

Sum me up! that's what everyone loves to do. I must just be being angsty, am I pmsing? Wait, no, I know. I'm going through a phase. I'll change my mind a million times after this. mad

This is the song that I think perfectly sums up the relationship between me and my mother:

Do I stress you out?

Xip Said:
I don't believe in romantic love. I think our bodies have been evolutionized to the point that enforcing this moral on it hurts our psyches more than helps it, because we feel it's unnatural to stay with and love eternally one person, yet we try to force ourselves, because our culture (thanks to the fucking Puritans) says it's the right way to do it... but evolution tells us to fuck every eligible mate to ensure the survival of the species.. hence the contradiction, so I don't believe that love is natural, I think love was invented by conservative religion. HOWEVER... I do believe in positive energy being misinterpretted as romantic love, and I think the universe is built upon energy, much of which is positive, therefore I believe much of the universe is comprised of, for lack of better words, "love" and "hate"...I believe I can feel positive energy toward someone, they can radiate it back to me, and it can feel good and feed us both... but love, and marriage, and forever... no... don't believe in that
xip

Wow, you said a mouthful. I do believe in romantic love, but not how you defined it. I don't think it has to be just between two people or that it has to last forever, but I think it's still there. I think it's easier to stick with one person, and less people get hurt that way, but that doesn't make it "true" and everything else "false." It's one way among many.

As far as evolution, I think they've shown that certain animals are coded for more monogamous relationships, and I believe humans are among them. Again, doesn't make it right, just evolution doesn't tell you to fuck anything and everyone willy-nilly. We have the gift of rationality that other animals don't seem to have, and we use that to determine what works best for us.

As far as the energy goes... umm, I don't know. I don't think the universe is made of "love" and "hate," I think they're complex hormonal reactions like any other emotion that we have. But that doesn't cheapen them in my mind; just because my emotions are all in my head doesn't mean they're not real to me.

Oh, and sorry for using your journal as a soapbox, MaryBee. Xip started it. tongue biggrin

kail:
I love romantic love. I also love friendship love. Love is good. There more than enough to go around. biggrin

Kids are extremely creepy. Especially babies. They look like little aliens. If they made a movie of killer babies I would freak out.
