About a month ago I went to a Fry's electronic store and purchased a 2gig USB key. It was a one day sale only: $70 with a $20 rebate. Thats a great price (currently.) The very next day they had the same product (different brand) on sale for $50, with no rebate involved. I was a little pissed. I'm not paying more, but I still gotta wait 4-6 weeks for my $20 back. Now heres where it gets worse. The following Thursday They put it on sale yet again. Now its going for $40. In six days I got fucked out of ten dollars + plus the rebate bullshit. Its not the amount of money. Its the speed at which memory prices fall.
Technology as a whole seems to be moving at this weird accelerated pace. The moment you take something out of the box, its outdated. I guess progress is progress.
I'm weighing out my next computer purchase. I think going through all the specs and sale-papers is making me a bit crazy.
