Tomorrow is a BIG Day!
I have to leave the house just before 7am, bleurgh. My mom & I are catching the 9am ferry to the mainland - I have an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon who will poke, prod & x-ray me and let me know when I can start walking again (or at least start physio... walking may take some practice, lol).
After that, we're going to go kill some time at Ikea - we don't have one on the island, so we're making the most of it. As you may know, I volunteer for an animal rescue, and someone in Vancouver wants to adopt one of our kittens; since I had to be in Van anyway, I offered to do the home inspection (which is part of our adoption process).
Once the home inspection is all done, we're driving 45 minutes to another town to pick up our little wee puppy!!! I'm super duper excited to finally meet him. I've had him "reserved" for about a month*, and I'm just way too excited to hold him in my arms. Heckler and I bought him a new bed, a harness, a flexi leash, some toys and, of course, some puppeh food on the weekend. He is 4 months old now and pretty much house trained, so I didn't think I'd need training pads for him (but I guess we'll see
)
We should arrive to pick up the pup around 4:30-5pm, which means that we'll miss the 5 o'clock boat and there isn't another one until seven o'clock.. geez. That'll mean we'll get to the island around 8:30pm and home at... gosh, ten. Hopefully I'll get to see Heckler for a few minutes tomorrow...
* a note on the puppy
