Oh my goodness! I can't believe it's been three weeks since my last update... whoops!
Lots and lots and lots has been going on!
April 1st:
I worked overnight from 10pm-7:45am (I got off an hour and fifteen minutes early). I do full care for a fella with Muscular Dystrophy, and we stayed up chatting with one of his other workers until after 3am. It was four by the time I had him tucked into bed. My alarm was due to go off in a little over two hours.
April 2nd: Heckler Day!
I had to race to the ferry, because my replacement at work was late *fist shake* I had made a reservation, so thankfully I got on the boat. The hour and a half took soooooooo long to trudge by. This was not helped by the VERY rough conditions on the water - I've never had such a rocky ferry ride! I got really nauseated
The nausea kind of took it out of me, I struggled to keep my eyes open on the drive to the airport. I arrived about twenty minutes before Heckler's flight was due to land, so I decided to try for some sleep in the car. That didn't work so well
I was too excited!!!!
Heckler's flight landed one minute early - I sure was antsy! I tried to read my book (currently I'm reading Gonzo: The Life of Hunter S. Thompson), but even that didn't hold my attention very well. I got a text from Heckler as soon as he was allowed to turn on his phone... my heart fluttered
I couldn't wait to see him.
Unfortunately for us, two flights had just landed from Asia ahead of him, and the wait for him to get through immigration took approximately two hours and forty-five minutes from the time he landed
Thank goodness for cell phones and Tim Horton's coffee!
I was so so so so sooooooo happy to be able to run to his arms. I hope never ever to be away from his side for any great length of time again! I finally get to hold him and not let go ♥
I chose the Accent Inn not far from the airport, simply because it has an IHOP attached to it, and I had never been
We checked in and went straight to our room for a very enthusiastic reunion
Then we went to IHOP
We slept for something like 14 hours after all that lol.
April 3rd:
Checkout time was at 11am, and um, then we went to IHOP again
We actually had pancakes this time. OMG, yum. I'm lucky I don't live near one of those places, because I'd probably spend all of my time and money there. Seriously, that must be the #1 cause of North American obesity! This menu item called my name...
The Cinn-a-Stack Pancakes pack a whopping 29 grams of fat and 890 calories
I decided to go with the blueberry ones
Anyhow, enough about my new pancake addiction, lol. We had some time to kill before our ferry, so we went looking for Ikea. I knew it was around there *somewhere*
It took us a while, but we did it! We bought a shelf for our daughter's room and some soap dishes.
We caught the 3pm ferry and met my mom and the kids for dinner at a restaurant on the island. We had a nice meal (apart from the 11-going-on-15 year old's emoness - which is kind of a long story that I might tell some other time). By 9pm, we were all in bed.
April 4th:
Our first full day as a "normal" couple! It went well.
Present day:
All this past week we've been kind of finding our groove. I mean, most weeks won't be as crazy as last week - we were all over town getting this and that. We'll eventually have jobs that keep us apart some of the time *tears up* but for now we're enjoying every second we have together.
I haven't taken any pics or videos lately - sorry! But I will soon!!!
And this doesn't have anything to do with anything - I just love pugs!
