Ok now that picture is freaking *me* out... gotta change it soon...
i must be an ubergeek cause today i asked my e-commerce prof about the asp.net (asp.net is a web scripting language used heavily in e-commerce, check pages for the .asp or .aspx extension) and he told me a bit about the class and gave me access to the web portal containing all of the class notes and assignments. It looked really interesting so I decided to look up ASP.NET at my favorite place for learning web-based stuffs, the W3Schools and I got excited. I mean really excited. I read the entire ASP.NET tutorial cover to cover grinning the whole time saying things like "OH MAN! That's so cool!" and "I had no idea!!!" Now i'm really psyched for my next term!! I can't wait to start doing this in class and then professionally!
I think I mentioned this before, but I'm building a nice car catalogue website for a dealership in Stonewall. I need to learn a scripting language to build it and, as much as I hate Windows and ASP.NET requres a Windows IIS server (maybe I can work on a Linux solution), I've decided to use ASP.NET as my language.. I looked at PHP and while I should learn it so I can add one more acronym to my resume I think I'd rather go through my asp class with an A(+) than a B... I think employers would prefer I kick ass in ASP as it seems to be the industry standard. PHP is good for some sites but when you're dealing with an entirely new, massive, corporate page an IDE like Visual Studio (point-and-click programming as opposed to hard coding *everything*) makes things immensely easier.
One day... CIO's will look for my services by name
