Arbeit Macht Frei!
There is no better way for me to relate to you where my life has been these last four weeks. Right through the very gates of hell...
My family has a transcontinental transportation business, and it became necessary for me to visit several of our contacts throughout the contiguous US. In all, I think I hit 40 states in a little over 14 days. Which is well and fine, mind you; I enjoy travel. But it was still a very taxing way to begin the month. I was sure that the drama would abate, and I would be free again to ascend my throne. That I might secure a length of time for personal disposition, and perhaps update my journal here.
To be honest, I've slept all of 15 hours since I got back, late last week. There has simply been a non-stop commotion in the office requiring my infallible well of knowledge and expertise. My day starts at 4:30am, and ends at 1am. I even ran straight through two days at one point. And I'm doing this without the benefits of psychotropic supplements, mind you!
If I had more strength and conviction, I would be ready to jab a stapler through someone's eye. Maybe an intern, for they are numerous and disposable. Most likely my victim(s) would also include any extended number of individuals who have crossed my path in the past week, simply by being the incompetent slag that they are. Useless people irk me more than anything else. How can I get anything done if I can't rely on people? Make no mistake about it: human resources are always the most vital component in a business.
The worst is that there's no end in sight. I've gotta be in the office by 5am on sat and sun too, just to keep things on track. Sigh... Bitch and moan, bitch and moan. Ok, I'll stop complaining. There were a few bright spots to my week, regardless of these glaring scheduling conflicts.
I managed to break away from my obligations late on monday night. Naturally, I dropped into my most sacred watering hole. I will spare you the details, for they are many and juicy. But I will simply say that it was good. Veni Vidi Vici. Although have no illusions as to the sanctity of my loins. For they are still pure and untouched. What a night, though. We went clean through to 8am, and I went right back to the office. Hahaha... I'm insane.
Work hard, play hard.
Oh, but I've got at least one story that I have to relate, from that night. But I'll save that for another time. Tomorrow, I should be able to scrounge up an extra few hours of free time, so be sure to come back for an update!
Also on the plus side, I finally got my book in the post! "A Venetian Affair." I heard about it a few years back, in an art class. Left is super-excited to read it. It's a collection of the correspondance between Andrea Memmo and his love Giustiniana Wynne. I'm hoping that it will in some way affirm the waste that has been my emotional life, for the past three years. Actually, that's only incidental. I hear their love was one of the most beautiful, and I want to see what it was like for other people. Although I feel kind of guitly that I'm going to be delving into their personal lives like this. Shrug. But I do it with the utmost reverance, to be sure.
Well, Left is going to hit the chat for a couple of minutes, and then assault the hay. Since I've got a really super weekend to look forward to, and all...
Take care my quirky friends. I hope to contact you all soon.

evidence for either case:
1.) mysterious familial connections/vocations
2.) expendable minions
3.) a penchant for drink
4.) foreign loves. (albeit fictional)
