Oh man...Friday coming....
I got a meeting tomorrow with some people from a new account. We're starting a program for them and we have to sit down to discuss it. All of that's no problem, but I just know everybody's gonna start talking after the work is done, getting all chummy and stuff, and then someone's going to suggest getting everyone together for GOLF. And on a weekend, mostlikely.
I can't stand GOLF. That Golden Tee game they have in bars is okay, but I cannot stand playing real GOLF. The few times I've played it I shot an average of 8 over on every goddamned hole, I held everyone up, I spent more time in the sand than David Hasselhoff, and I dropped more F-bombs than even I'm comfortable with. grrr!
This is not what I call enjoyment. GOLF is humiliating and frustrating. GOLF is not fun. GOLF makes me feel incompetent. GOLF is the pinnacle of absurdity--hitting a ball the size of a cherry tomato across a lawn the size of two football fields, just to knock it in a little hole. GOLF is just a waste of time and money for me, especially on a Saturday, one of the two precious days of the week I have to myself...
...but I know if I'm gonna get some big heat if I try to cop out on playing GOLF with everyone. I've been part of the project, so they're going to want me there. I completely understand the whole "entertaining clients" thing, but I do not want to be a part of this. I need an excuse.
Any ideas?
