While wandering around, you find it is time for you to go to work. You stop feeling apathetic and head out that door, but not before you gague your ears up to 11/16th. You find work in its usual standings, only you get to work with someone awesome that you normally don't see for a thirty whole minutes. On top of that, you find that work is awesome and your co-worker is finally starting to open up. He starts to do 80's hairmetal dances right next to your side. If you choose to dance back go to (a). If you crack a joke go to (b).
(a) You dance back and laugh so hard that you can't breath, have an asthma attack, and die.
(b) You start up a good converstation and the rest of the work day is amazing. (not to mention that some little kid comes in with his mother and randomly runs up to you and hugs your leg... hahaha... kids are funny). [out of theme sidenote: kids have always creeped you out. They are more observant than most.] You close early and head out. If you choose to go to the coffee shop go to (c). If you choose to stay and hang out with chigachow go to (d).
(c) You arrive at the coffee shop to find out that you've just missed one of your friends who has headed out to have a drink. Luckily, your good friend and awesome co-conspirator is there to brighten your already gleaming day. After some coffee and cigarettes, you both get gitty and start making random jokes that are hilarious! The cowboy comes to bring more cheer (b/c he's a cowboy, it's what he does). After a while you debate calling your friend. You call her (e) or you don't (f).
(d) Within the first five minutes of being home, Chiga decides to pull out of your driveway and dent your car. You then decide to proceed as if you had chosen option c all along like the clever girl you are.
(e) She comes to the coffee shop and you have a great discussion about favorite childhood books which reminds you of Bridge to Teribithia (sp?) and you become even more excited in your caffeinated state! You think of a few other books you loved as a kid. If you decide to quote the first in your journal go to (g). If you choose the second grouping, go to (h)...
(f) You are an uncaring friend, suck at life, and hit the reset button. (aka wrong choice buddy)
(g) This is a book you remeber getting. In first grade you had a gift swap for christmas. You all sat around a tree (which would probably be unheard of now!) You got this book from a girl who goes to the same school as you do now. SYou plan on renting this movie sometime soon and living happily ever after.
"He screamed something without words and flung the papers and paints into the dirty brown water He watched them all disappear. Gradually his breath quieted, and his heart slowed from its wild pace. The ground was still muddy from the rains, but he sat down anyway. There was nowhere to go. Nowhere. Ever again. He put his head down on one knee. "'That was a damn fool thing to do.' His father sat down on the dirt beside him. "'I don't care. I don't care.' He was crying now, crying so hard he could barely breathe. "His father pulled Jess over on his lap as if he were Joyce Ann. 'There. There," he said, patting his head. 'Shhh. Shhh.'"
"It was Leslie who had taken him from the cow pasture into Terabithia and turned him into a king. He had thought that was it. Wasn't king the best you could be? Now it occurred to him that perhaps Terabithia was like a castle where you came to be knighted. After you stayed for a while and grew strong you had to move on. For hadn't Leslie, even in Terabithia, tried to push back the walls of his mind and make him see beyond to the shining worldhuge and terrible and beautiful and very fragile? (Handle with careeverythingeven the predators.) "Now it was time for him to move out. She wasn't there, so he must go for both of them. It was up to him to pay back to the world in beauty and caring what Leslie had loaned him in vision and strength. "As for the terrors aheadfor he did not fool himself that they were all behind himwell, you just have to stand up to your fear and not let it squeeze you white. Right, Leslie? "Right."
(h) One of the first books you read that you didn't have to read for school...
"He don't never rest. And worse than that, he works inside himself. I can see it on his face. Like he's been trying all his life to catch up to something. But whatever it is, it's always ahead of him, and he can't reach it."
"Need is a weak word. Has nothing to do with what people get. Ain't what you need that matters. It's what you do."
"Never miss a chance to keep your mouth shut."
and on that note... I hope you can figure out that all of these things were what happened to me today (with the exception of the death part!)
