I am not sure, the dreads I wear are tie in falls, so I change them at will. For actual braiding in I am not 100% sure, I think you most likely could. I had at one point made some double ones and had a girl at school cornrow my hair and then we just sewed the dreads in. I did not keep them long though because they looked too ethnic on me. I looked like I was trying to be something I'm not. It was because I bought "dread hair" which has a really tight kinky texture and so the dreads were really light weight and nice but just too "fro" looking.
