HOLY SHIT...well, as some of you may know by my last two posts regarding the internship, it had been going well...better than i thought! tonight as I was dropping off Klaus at the airport so he can go to China, umm..he hired me. HIRED ME! As of August 1st, I am part of the Klaus Badelt team of film music! If you're not sure who that is or what that means, go watch PIrates of the Carribean..and any music you hear, he did. AND..when you watch the Olympics hahaha (IF), the music he did too! For the first 1.5- 2 years I'm a technical assistant (servers, backups, program trouble shooting, studio setups, etc) and doing minor writing. It'll take that long to learn allll the programs anyways...and then I'm off to fully composing for the movies! And in the meantime, I'll be composing for commercials and whatever movies come my way on the side.
Regardless, this is it. My first step to the rest of my life! As time goes on here in the next year, i'll be meeting directors, producers, actors, orchestrators, composers...you name it! So I'm moving to Santa Monica, and kissing my social life goodbye unless it's hanging out with the 4 other people that work there.
YAAY!!!!!
Cheers everyone and always always keep your head up. If there's one thing I've learned from the past 3 months of 13hour days, 7 days a week for no pay it's been that hard work, passion and a good attitude will get you farther than you think. Most importantly...positive attitude.
I'm gonna attempt to sleep
Love you all...so now, the trick will be to find a girl that understands my schedule and passion and dreams; and knows that working 12-14 hours a day is going to have to be okay. Don't think she exists though! Let me know if you find one..hahaha =) =)
