"I'LL BREACH YOU TOMORROW"
"I'm tired" he said
once again as he leaned his elbow on the stool
by breakfast.
Ignored he muttered something like
"I'll breach you tomorrow" quietly into his sugar puffs,
then, with that 12 hour work gait he finally reprieved himself up the stairs to bed.
It was in the shadows that I first pulled out of Victoria,
the sombre tones of blue green and yellow
emerging in line with the warm acoustics of the room,
playing a little too rough I decided to sweep the track
side to side on an old record player
splaying the needle.
Afterwards at a diner I ordered the Belfast
and flicked through the sport section
counting my loss-es.
Thin lipped and tight eyed I came to a decision
and burst out the front door
with my hands holster-like in my pockets,
I cut loose forever.
