I just got some news.
A friend of mine passed away the other day. I met him while I was working as a bellman back in Edmonton.
His name was Lorne Clark. He was never married, and he didn't have kids. But he did have a family. All of us at the hotel cared about Lorne. He was more than just a permanent resident who lived up on the 21 floor. He was one of the nicest old guys you could ever meet; and no matter how sick he got, he never lost his boyish smirk.
Even when things got their worst, he never gave up. I can honestly say that Lorne Clark was the kind of guy who would fight his way out of a corner; and for that I admired him.
He was a major influence on my life, and I'll never forget him.
Goodbye Lorne, you were the greatest
