When I was younger, I had a very conservative life imposed by my family. I couldn't do the things I liked, from watching a movie (Harry Potter) to going to parties.
I have a very strong memory in me of a Friday, I was in my late teens and I was going out with my parents to go to church as we did every week. When I leave the house I see my neighbors (teenagers) having a nice party, and that made me sad, because I wanted to be part of that. But I couldn't.
One of the ways I escaped my reality was through games, especially The Sims. I created a Sim with lots of piercings and tattoos, made her go to parties, and virtually lived something I couldn't live in my real life. The sims helped me not to freak out (laughs). Today, at 26, I'm still very attached to this game and I'm still doing it there, what I want to do here, in real life.
